Basic Information

In this campaign, player characters are referred to as "Ring Bearers" and Dungeon Masters are referred to as "Tavern Masters," all of whom convene in a tavern in the center of a forest - the Creeking Tavern. Your character was ripped from their timeline at level 4 and transported to the tavern after coming in contact with a ring, which is now stuck to your thumb and cannot be removed. How you came across this ring is up to you.

You and your fellow Ring Bearers were summoned from many different time periods (based on a 1000 moon cycle described below).  When creating a character you may either choose to be randomly assigned a timeline, or choose a timeline.  The point of the timeline origins provide the players with an optional in game situation.  For example, you may be standing in the tavern and looking your great grandfather in the eye and you are the same age. 

 

Obviously, it is likely that you will be playing with characters who lived before or after you in the timeline - feel free to work other players into your backstory that way.  If you are the same or similar half-race, you may choose to be related.  However, universal paradigms are in place that state that you cannot exist if your ancestor is killed off.  So, make sure you protect your family.

Your character will have almost no familiarity with the world they've been summoned into, so you'll need to explore to understand the environment. You'll go on adventures with a variety of different players and you will likely need their support once you explore further into the world, but there is no obligation to share every discovery with the rest of the tavern.​
